Where you are saying that you've installed it in X:\xampp already, check and make sure that it is NOT installed in x:\xampp\xampp as this won't work. I personally also downloaded patch2, which is a zip that you just unpack over the top of the x:\xampp folders, it replaces half a dozen files in there. This will create x:\XAMPP with about 200MB of files in it.Ĥ) run the paf.exe installer, giving it x:\PortableApps\XAMPP as the target (which will probably be the default)ĥ) start PAM, click on the XAMPP icon, it should bring up the control panel step by stepġ) download the 33Mb XAMPP self-extracting exe (NOT the installer) (big download button on the app page)Ģ) download the launcher (link referenced just below the download button to integrate with PAM)ģ) run the 33Mb self-extracter, and give it x:\ (where is your drive) as the destination. I've been meaning to stick xampp on my drive for a while, so I took this as a good opportunity to try it out.īasically, I followed the instructions and it worked, so. What am I doing wrong? Have I installed it in the wrong place? You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'

The installation stuck on step 2 Creating Database.
#XAMPP INSTALL STUCK PC#
Depending on your browser, you may first have to select a save location or verify the download. I'm trying to install the new Joomla 3.6 on my pc running Xampp. Mysql\bin\mysqladmin.exe: connect to server at 'localhost' failedĮrror: 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)'Ĭheck that mysqld is running on localhost and that the port is 3306. It's a grey button near the bottom of the page.
#XAMPP INSTALL STUCK PORTABLE#
I'm getting this when I restart XAMPP through Portable Apps: I can get the services running but the index.php in htdocs isn't recognised for double-clicking and opening it from within Firefox gives the error message. XAMPP is installed on my portable HD at E:\PortableApps\xampp

I've got the basics - Firefox, GIMP, Filezilla, Komposer and 7-Zip.īut what I really need is XAMPP so I can do some work on my php/mySQL website (and perhaps learn AXAJ at the same time). (PS: If you use MD5 then extract WZ_MD5_MOD.I've just reinstalled Portable Apps after over a year away since I realise that is so much could have been doing with it and I've just been missing out. You can change this value to any higher value you want, change it to 0 will tell phpMyAdmin to disable script timeout. (This is one of the easiest part of the guide) Install it at: (c:\xampp) - As default.ģ) Now go to your xampp folder (c:\xampp) then you will see a folder named htdocs there, double click it and delete all the files unless the folders "contrib, forbidden, xampp, restirected" <- These are the folder names, Dont delete them.Ĥ) Now download MuWeb 0.9 (Free Version) to start downloading MuWeb 0.9 click on of the mirrorsĥ) After you have downloaded MuWeb 0.9 (Free Version) install it and extract the files into the htdocs folder: (c:/xampp/htdocs)Ħ) Go to "c:/xampp/htdocs/INSTALL STUFF" then double click MuWeb.reg and click Yes then OK. To fix this I did this: By default, phpMyAdmin set script execution timeout value to 300.

2 is the best one, works always)Ģ) After you have downloaded xampp then install it.
#XAMPP INSTALL STUCK MANUAL#
In order to install MuWeb 0.9 You have to use xampp (unless you want to install Zend Optimizer manual on the other webservers like easyphp, apache and so, I prefer xampp so this guide is based on xampp)ġ) Click -> HERE <<- to download xampp (There is alot of external mirrors on that website, External Mirror Nr. Installing MuWeb 0.9 & Xampp + SECURE XAMPP.
